Subject Pronouns

What are Subject Pronouns?

Subject pronouns in Spanish are words that replace the subject noun in a sentence. They indicate who is performing the action of the verb. In Spanish, subject pronouns are often omitted because the verb form already indicates who is doing the action.

Spanish Subject Pronouns

Person Singular Plural
1st Person yo (I) nosotros/nosotras (we)
2nd Person tú (you - informal) vosotros/vosotras (you all - informal, Spain)
3rd Person él (he), ella (she), usted (you - formal) ellos (they - masc.), ellas (they - fem.), ustedes (you all - formal)
